Celebrate Labor Day with the tertiary installment of the Bureau of Drawers Quarterly Anthology. The cover is mine this time, and the whole publication is available as a free, digital-download on the Bureau’s website.

My illustrative compatriots at the Bureau of Drawers have put together a free e-anthology which you can download here. Writer Adam Eivy has his entire first Sleep Deprivation Ninja story (with art by me) in the anthology, and a bunch of my other friends have their work in it too. The collection is already receiving positive press, prompting the Stranger’s Paul Constant to herald a return of the Seattle comics scene: “…after a few somnambulant years, the Seattle comics scene is back.” Also, the anthology has been featured on my favorite source of comics news, Tom Spurgeon’s The Comics Reporter. Late notice, but tomorrow night (February 24th) is my friend/fellow-artist Gina Siciliano’s book release party for her graphic-novella Summertime, an 88-page odyssey of “Sex and Violence, Punk and Love, Self-Destruction and Survival.” The party is at Left Bank Books in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market at 7 PM. There will be snacks, drinks, and a discussion. Interested parties who can’t make the signing can still snag a copy of the book at the University District Comic Stop.

Myself and artist super-friend Billis Helg will be sharing a table this weekend at Seattle’s first-ever Short Run festival of local, small-press publications. The event will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Vera Project. I’ll be selling some reprints of my comics and minis, and Billis and I have plans to unveil a collaboration we’ve been working on. Also, fellow artist-compatriots the Bureau of Drawers will be at the table next to us, so you’ll have a chance to see/buy some of the cool goods they’re selling. Stop by if you can!

Bad Omens, the Bureau of Drawers’ annual Halloween Show opens at 6 PM on October 27th at Cafe Racer. There will be original art, music, and the usual revelry. My piece in the show is featured above. Stop by and say hello if you’re in the neighborhood.

My former unit of illustrative compatriots, an organization know only as Friends of the Nib, has disbanded (alas). Looking back is for salt pillars though, and the future is full of promise! The new, reformed splinter organization (of which I’m now a part) is called Bureau of Drawers (I’ll give you a second) and it’s off to a rousing start. Check out our blog! (Did you get the joke? It’s a pun! Ha!)
